Silver bracelet scans

File contains 9 CD-ROMS (one of which is blank) containing digital images of bracelets held at various museums in Canada and the United States. Some of the CDs also contains digital copies of textual records listing information about the bracelets. The photographs contain images of bracelets from an unspecified museum exhibit(s). The textual records are photocopies of CD covers listing the contents on the CDs.

Ron Hamilton

File consists of images objects and a publication titled "We Sing to the Universe: Poems by Ron Hamilton" for which Bill McLennan photographed the artwork on the cover. In addition, is a letter from Ron Harrison to Bill McLennan.

Exhibit photos

File contains images of photographs, letters, and newspaper clippings used for background research for this exhibit. Other textual materials include inkjet copies of photographs of silver pieces featured in the <i>Signed Without Signatures</i> exhibit. The photograph in this file is a reproduction of a historic photograph with nine men, five sitting in the front row and four men standing behind posing in front of a wooden building. They are all wearing three piece suits.

Staff research, publications and productions

Subseries consists of material produced by museum staff, among them Wilson Duff, Harry and Audrey Hawthorn, Marjorie Halpin, and Gloria Cranmer Webster. There is extensive material on Audrey Hawthorn’s Art of the Kwakiutl Indians. Included in this subseries are ca. 2000 photographs which were collected for possible use in this book. Photographs are numbered A38-A17206 with many numbers missing throughout. The majority of photographs are of wooden masks, but they are also of bowls, bentwood boxes, paddles, rattles, totem poles, talking sticks, headdresses and frontlets, wooden figures and miniatures, whistles, spoons, silver bracelets, argillite carvings, button blankets, chilkat blankets, cedar head and neck rings, woodworking tools, stone tools, and fish hooks. Other record forms included in this subseries include correspondence, notes and published materials.

Royal Ontario Museum

File contains copies of correspondence between McLennan and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) regarding MOA borrowing some pieces from their collection to showcase in the <i>Signed Without Signature</i> exhibit. The majority of the photographs contain in this file are images of a cedar hat held at the ROM. Other photographs depict gold and silver bracelets.

Museum of Anthropology [UBC]

File mainly contains images of Northwest Coast artifacts held at the Museum of Anthropology (MOA), including hats, spoons, silver bracelets, and weavings. The textual records include print outs of catalogue records of more artifacts also held at MOA.

Other textual records include photocopies of images of the bracelet in question. The photographs contained in this file are of other silver bracelets on display at the Glenbow Museum and the American Museum of Natural History.
