Item is a hand-tinted glass lantern slide of approximately fifty people in front of a van. According to annotations, photograph is of a Tuberculosis Clinic at Elkhorn (Washakada) Residential School. The Elkhorn Residential School started as the Washakada Home for Girls and the Kasota Home for Boys were established in the village of Elkhorn, MB in 1888. Following a fire, the school was rebuilt outside the town in 1895. Ongoing financial problems led to a government takeover of the school. It was closed in 1918 but reopened in 1923, under the administration of the Anglican Church’s Missionary Society. Many students came from northern Manitoba. The leaders of The Pas Indian Band made a number of complaints about the conditions at the school, which was eventually closed in 1949. (National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation)

Consists of Tsimshian language education materials produced by Margaret Seguin and Susan Marsden. The materials were used by Powell for research purposes during his work on the Gitxsan books.
File mainly contains copies of letters McLennan sent to various members of the Lax Kw'Alaams First Nations who contributed to the Tsimshian Treasures exhibit. There is also a copy of a paper titled "From ceremonial object to curio: Object Transformation at Port Simpson and Metlakatla, British Columbia in the nineteenth century."
This subseries consists of records related to the traveling exhibit that came to MOA called <i>Treasures of the Tsimshian from the Dundas Collection.</i> Records include draft correspondence, and draft exhibit photos and text (including case labels).
File contains print outs of catalogue records of Tsimshian artifacts featured in the Dundas Collection Exhibit hosted at MOA from February to June 2008.
