Great Hall with windows missing

The Great Hall of the Museum of Anthropology with large sections of windows not in place. This photograph would have pre-dated the totem poles being moved into the hall, as the windows were not put in place to allow the poles to be lifted into the hall.

A display of items to be given away at a potlatch

This photograph, originally taken by William or Jean Halliday, shows a display of items to be given away at a potlatch in Alert Bay. The caption for the slide gives the date as 1910 but the BC Archives lists the date for this photograph as between 1897 and 1933. This photograph is housed at the BC Archives, #H-03976.

Fishing from boats

Photograph of people fishing from boats. They may be spear fishing or dip netting. A possible caption for this photograph says "Fishing (Athabascan)." It is difficult to discern if the canoes are of Coast Salish or Athabascan design.
